I'm Nick. I write about the AI tools I actually use: agents, coding assistants, local models and the small servers that keep them running.

This site exists because the tools are genuinely useful and the explanations usually aren't. Most writing about AI is either marketing or written for people who already understand infrastructure. Very little of it is aimed at someone clever who simply hasn't spent years in a terminal.

How the content here is made

I try things, they half-work, I fix them, and then I write down what I wish someone had told me first. That means guides here are shorter than most, name real costs, and say when something is fiddly rather than pretending it isn't.

Where I haven't used something myself, the page says so plainly. That happens (I can't run everything), but you should always know which kind of page you are reading.

How it makes money

Two ways, both stated openly. Some links to tools and hosting are affiliate links, which pay a small commission at no cost to you. And I do paid one-to-one sessions helping people set this stuff up.

Recommendations are not for sale. If a tool is worse than a free alternative, that is what the page will say. The disclosure page covers this in full.

Corrections

Software moves fast and some of this will go stale. Every article shows when it was last reviewed. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell me and I'll fix it.
